Mrindadze and Mwena dam to address water scarcity.

Mrindadze dam is located in Kasemeni village unit in mwereni. For a long time the Kasemeni village unit has been faced with drought and famine that has contributed the greater poverty index in area. 

In an attempt to address the issue the area MP Hon. Mangale Chiforomodo through the ministry  Agriculture constructed a 35 Million dam at Mrindadze.The dam will serve a greater population of farmers and pastoralists from not just Mrindadze but also its neighbourhood villages.

At Mwena village unit, the MP constructed a dam at Mwena village. The dam will serve a vast population of Mwena village and its environs.

Both dams are fenced with a heavy gauge chain link wire.

Both dams have water troughs and water taps that will serve the animals and people respectively.

The dams elaborate spillways that will enable them release excess water and retain that which it can hold.

Water filters were constructed to sieve and make sure the dirty contents do not contaminate the waters in the dam.

In his speech during the launching of the Mwena dam Hon. Chiforomodo stated clearly that he got several water projects which include the two dams and several other solar powered boreholes to be constructed in the remaining three Wards which are Dzombo,Vanga and Pongwe/Kikoneni ward.

He intended to construct the dams in Mwereni ward because boreholes don't do well the area because of a salty bedrock.
